Improving Your Own Voice
Author: admin
Many people have never really listened to their own voice-at least not as their audiences hear them. When we hear our recorded voice, often we respond incredulously, ”Is that me? Do i really sound like that?” Spend some time getting to know your own voice.
Spend a day with microcassette recorder. Carry it around with you. Talk into it when you are commuting in your car, walking through the park, sitting in your office, or waiting for the elevator.
Tell the recorder how you feel, where you are going, how the whether is. Tell the recorder a joke, describe a movie, explain a book’s plot line. Just talk, saying anything that strikes you.
That night, push the “play” button and listen to yourself. Are you someone you’d like to listen to? How would you describe your voice? Full or thin? Confident or shaky? Personal or distant? Fast or slow?. Just repeat it daily until you improve your voice clarity, pace and pronunciation.
