More of the people in our community today even those teenagers I may say addicted in different kind of drugs like the marijuana, cocaine and heroin, and this is based on my observation in our town when I always see them together talking up that kind of drugs near our house, no matter what time it is. They are abusing not only their physical health, but also their mental or mind that they didn’t even realized the outcome of doing. In most instances, their future life may affect them by these drugs. Some may drove them in jail while most of them in any drug rehab center by means of drug detoxification for their health recovery.
When we talk about drug rehab center, it is good for those adults not only addicted in such drugs, but also suffering from alcoholism, has an eating disorders, depression, and other co-occurring disorders to reside in some rehabilitation center with extended care facility. One of these is the Chapman House I have known with the help of the government which offers a drug treatment program. The Chapman House Detox is a confidential and comfortable residential drug treatment program designed to break the vicious cycle of drug and/or alcohol addiction. They will be residing in a peaceful and nurturing environment while receiving care both medically and emotionally throughout their stay.
Moreover, the Chapman House offer also the intervention, and with their interventionist those people who engaged in any self-destructive behavior such as a person with a drinking problem, drug abuse problem, gambling problem, psychiatric problem, and person who is extremely depressed, helps them. The Intervention breaks through the person’s denial by approaching several of his/her defense mechanisms all at once. Removing or short-circuiting the person’s defense mechanisms allows the family to present the truth about his/her problem in a calm, rational and loving manner.
